Lo (lol) and behold! A new piece of art!

I don’t really know where to start on this one. It kind of came about when I was doodling up a bunch of ideas I had. Sometimes I’ll jot them all down into their own individual files and then pick at them one by one, or sometimes I’ll pick at a bunch of them all at the same time. It’s no secret that I am a feet-hater. Unlike many other artists who choose not to confront hands and cleverly attempt to hide them, I actually love drawing hands. I had really taken to Cam de Leon’s style of bony, almost alienesque looking hands when I was a teenager, and I spent a lot of time as a teen trying to draw hands looking similar. In doing such I actually managed to train myself to not be terrified of hands I guess! There’s something really delicate and nice about hands, and because of that I like to draw them and usually make them pretty detailed.

Leucism, In Progress Pics and Timelapse, 2018

This new work I made rather quickly. I had seen a few gorgeous pictures of some albino folks online. I often look at the albino color palette of skin, given my character Azra (and his counterpart Falco) are both leucistic, meaning they suffer from partial loss of pigmentation, mostly in their skin. Anyway, I like drawing bugs a lot, and I often see a flutter of bright white moths around my front porch light, so I got to thinking about the contrast of white on white and then black.
