Kickstarter active! Help me make 100 soft enamel pins

January 30, 2019

I have just started a Kickstarter (Live TODAY) to attempt to create my very first ever soft enamel pins. I’ve always wanted to make something like this, and finally decided and came up with a design that could easily be converted into an enamel pin!

Blade Runner 2049 Origami Sheep Pin Kickstarter

In the original Blade Runner, Gaff folds up tiny origami animals. By the end of the film, he leaves a tiny origami unicorn in front of Deckard’s front door, implying the he knew about Deckard’s dreams of a unicorn, leaving years and years of debate in the fandom over whether or not Deckard himself is a replicant.

When K visits Gaff in Blade Runner 2049, Gaff folds up an origami sheep, which is a reference to the title of the book the Blade Runner universe is based upon – Philip K. Dick’s “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?”

Since the origami unicorn has been produced by many others, I would like to produce the first origami sheep lapel pin! But don’t worry… The origami unicorn is a stretch goal. 🙂

Other than my sci-fi-esque series Worlds last year and my android Pin0cchio I created for the 2015 Artist Series Calendar, I feel like I haven’t done a lot in the way of definitive sci-fi illustrations.
